Chilli is finally speaking out after that Michelle Obama conspiracy repost had the internet in a chokehold.
The Michelle Obama conspiracy repost quickly turned into a full-blown timeline situation, and fans were not playing about it.
The TLC singer started trending after screenshots showed she reposted content pushing a long-debunked conspiracy about Michelle Obama. The claim alleged Michelle registered as a male in Illinois back in 1994, a narrative that has been repeatedly debunked for years.

As backlash built, Chilli went to TMZ to clean it up, sitting down with the same outlet that helped amplify the story in the first place.
She said it was an accident.
“I have the utmost respect and admiration for Michelle Obama, and I would never say or do anything that is disrespectful to her or to any woman,” she told TMZ. She explained she didn’t even know the repost went live until her phone started going off. According to her, Instagram’s layout made it easy to hit the wrong button while scrolling.
So once she realized, she says she deleted it immediately.
She also pointed to her past support of Barack Obama and Michelle, saying she donated to both campaigns, voted twice, and supported Michelle’s initiatives focused on kids and health.
So in her words, hate is not part of how she moves.
But while she was direct about the repost, the conversation did not stop there.
Because reports revealed she made donations tied to Donald Trump and the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
