Cori Clingman, 25, pleaded guilty to three counts of negligent homicide under the influence of alcohol in Maryland on Friday.

The charges are connected to the car crash that killed NFL rookie Khyree Jackson and his former high school teammates Isaiah Hazel, 23, and Anthony Lytton Jr., 24, in July 2024.

The crash happened when Clingman’s silver Infiniti Q50 struck a Dodge Charger carrying Jackson, Hazel, and Lytton, as well as a Chevrolet Impala.

“Investigators believe Clingman attempted to change lanes while driving at a high rate of speed when she struck the Dodge Charger and then struck the Chevrolet Impala,” police said.

The Charger went off the road and hit tree stumps, killing Jackson and Hazel at the scene. Lytton was hospitalized and later died. Clingman and her passengers, along with the Impala driver, survived without injuries.

Prince George County Prosecutor Aisha Braveboy confirmed that Clingman’s blood alcohol content was “at least” above the legal limit of 0.08% in Maryland. Clingman was initially charged with 13 counts, including negligent manslaughter and drunken driving.

Under her plea deal, prosecutors will recommend a five-year sentence for each count, suspending all but one year to run consecutively. This means Clingman is expected to serve three years in prison. Her sentencing is scheduled for February 4, 2026.

Jackson had been preparing to debut as a cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings in the 2024-2025 NFL season. He was just one month away from his 25th birthday and had been selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The crash has drawn national attention due to the promising future of Jackson and the tragic loss of Hazel and Lytton, highlighting the devastating consequences of negligent driving under the influence.
