50 Cent has answered Courtney Kemp’s “bewildered” statement by saying he only brought her up because Variety asked him to.

In her statement to Variety, the Power creator said she was “completely bewildered by his need to mention me in interviews or podcasts,” and added that she hoped the success of his new movie, Street Fighter, would help him move on the way she has.
On Sunday, 50 posted her full statement on Instagram and wrote that he was simply answering the question in front of him. “Wow Variety ask me who I wasn’t looking forward to working with again so I said Courtney,” he wrote.
That is how the interview went. Variety asked 50 if there was anyone he had clashed with so badly that he would never work with them again, and he named Courtney Kemp. He said she started claiming “I wrote it” after Power took off, and that she tried to run the entire network through one show.
50 did not stop at setting the record straight. In the same caption, he wrote, “I thought I was being nice I didn’t even mention her sleeping with cast and crew members.” He offered no evidence or details to back up the claim, and Kemp had not responded to the new post at the time of publishing.
The post was a slideshow, and its second slide was Kemp’s full statement. In it, she called his memory of budgets and production “uninformed” because he was “rarely in a budget meeting.” She also said she has never understated his importance to Power, and that “while he did not write nor create the series, he was a large part of its birth.”
Courtney Kemp created Power and served as its showrunner. 50 was an executive producer and played Kanan, and the show grew into a franchise of spinoffs on Starz.
