Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey and her husband Peter Thomas sat down with Life & Style Magazine for an exclusive interview where Cynthia discussed her fibroids diagnosis and how it nearly strained her marriage to the point of divorce.
Cynthia was diagnosed with fibroids — non-cancerous tumors that develop in the uterus. Her symptoms left her tired, uncomfortable and suddenly 20 lbs heavier. Because of the bloating and discomfort from her fibroids, her sex drive was non existent and unless she had corrective surgery she was about to lose her husband.
“We’d be divorced for sure,” Cynthia reveals to Life & Style, on newsstands now.
Peter agrees, saying, “I know we would have been done. There is absolutely no way we could have survived another year if things hadn’t changed.”
What’s even worse is that he even contemplated cheating on his ill wife. “Me and my buddies were planning a trip to Venezuela because nobody knows us there.”
Cynthia had the corrective surgery over the summer and says now that she’s healthy, their relationship is better than ever. “We’re intimate a lot more now and it feels great,” says Cynthia.
When I read this interview I wasn’t exactly sure where Cynthia and Peter were going with it. I believe in marriage being for better or for worse and after reading this, it seem to me that Cynthia’s mother and sister were absolutely right in not liking Peter. Who leaves their wife when she’s going through something like this? Why? Because she gained weight and her sex drive isn’t on point? After she stuck with him while he flushed their money down a failing club? Then to contemplate cheating on her is the worst!
Cynthia sounds like an idiot thinking THIS is what love is.
