Shaunie O’neal is looking to create another reality series but not if her ex-husband Shaq has anything to say about it!
Shaunie is behind the Basketball Wives franchise which, especially Miami, gained a lot of success. Shaunie has a deal for a new reality show for VH1 called “The Shaunie Project” which will be focused more on her life as a mother and a business woman. Shaunie wants to involve the kids in the show but Shaq says, “Over my dead body!”
The ex-couple share 5 children together. Shaunie has tried convincing Shaq that her show is more so good, wholesome, family fun. Think, T.I.’s “Family Hustle” for example. Shaunie says one of the episodes will focus on Shaunie’s aversion to working out. The kids will convince her that working out is good and they’ll all run a 5K together. Unfortunately for Shaunie, Shaq is NOT convinced and he doesn’t want his children being a part of it. He’s convinced the show will end up showcasing a dysfunctional family that will hurt his kids, some of whom are already struggling in school.
Shaunie has gone to a judge seeking an emergency order allowing her to showcase she and Shaq’s children on television.
I actually commend Shaq for not wanting his children on television. His kids are older now and as in control as one may think they are of their image, reality TV can change things. It can either be really good or really bad for the kids and as a father, who would want to risk it going really bad?
