DDG sat down with The Baller Alert Show alongside hosts Ferrari Simmons and BT where he was asked about the ongoing back and forth with Soulja Boy. When the name came up, DDG did not match the energy that Soulja has been putting out online. He took the opposite approach entirely.
Ferrari brought up the tension by comparing it to a situationship that never fully resolves itself, and DDG made his position clear from the jump.
“I don’t look at it, when Soulja Boy be doing that trolling on me, I don’t take it serious at all,” he said.
The reasoning he gave was simple. The two have never actually been in the same room. There is no real history, no incident, no moment that built into anything. It has all existed online, and DDG said he refuses to treat internet noise like it carries any real weight.
What made the exchange interesting is what Ferrari pointed out immediately after. DDG’s brother does not share that same level of detachment.
“Your brother do, though,” Ferrari said. DDG laughed and confirmed it without hesitation.
“Yeah, he don’t play that.”
The contrast between the two is telling. DDG is choosing the higher road and saying so plainly, while acknowledging that not everyone around him feels the same way about letting things slide.
He did not take any shots at Soulja in the process either. He actually acknowledged him directly.
“Soulja Boy is a hip hop legend, but he lame now,” DDG added.
Soulja previously took shots at DDG and other streamers, claiming he was the first to do it and one of the best. However, it seems that DDG is at a point in his career where engaging with every piece of online beef would cost him more than it would gain him.
