Training camp is in full session, which means that along with players getting mentally and physically prepared for the upcoming season, some of them are also inevitably getting injured. While most injuries tend to keep players out for just a few weeks, some players are not as lucky and have to face the reality that they will be out for the entire season. This afternoon, Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson became the latest player to fall victim to injury during practice.

Per ESPN:

“Washington Redskins receiver DeSean Jackson suffered a Grade 2 separation of his shoulder Thursday and is likely to be sidelined for a couple of weeks, according to sources.

Jackson suffered an injury to his right shoulder at the end of a one-on-one drill; he had caught a pass and hit the ground and then slid into a sled and laid on the ground for a couple minutes before walking off on his own power, grimacing. But he remained on the sidelines with his right shoulder wrapped.

He was not made available after practice, though he appeared in good spirits, and coach Jay Gruden will not address the media until later this afternoon.“

Yikes…that blocking sled got him good. But don’t worry Redskins fans and fantasy owners, he should be good to go for the season opener against the Miami Dolphins.
