St. Louis Area Woman Dies After Illegal Butt Injections, Police Look At Possible Link To Dallas Case

Police look into a possible link to an earlier Dallas case

A 22 year old woman has died after receiving illegal buttocks injections, and police are looking into whether her case is connected to an earlier death in Dallas, according to local news reports from early August 2015.

Authorities say the woman, Daysha, and three friends each paid $300 for the procedure, which reportedly took place in a hotel room in Edmundson, Missouri, near St. Louis. Four days later, Daysha reportedly had trouble breathing and was taken to a hospital, where she died.

No one had been charged in her death at the time of the reports. Police said they were looking into whether two women arrested earlier in Dallas, Denise and Jimmy, could be involved. Those two were arrested and released on bond in the Dallas case, where a woman died after injections at a salon. Edmundson police chief Miklos Hurocy told reporters he believed the suspect in his department’s case and the Dallas suspects were “one and the same,” adding that is “pretty much what we’re thinking.”

Authorities have not said what leads them to believe the cases are connected, and a connection has not been proven. Early reports did not include a response from either woman. Investigators were reviewing dozens of hours of surveillance video.

Health experts warn that illegal injections of unknown substances can be extremely dangerous, and licensed medical providers are the only safe option for cosmetic procedures.
