Dionne Warwick, Saweetie, and Mya are officially coming together for a cause that is bigger than the music.
The legendary vocalists and the “Icy Girl” have teamed up to record a powerful new version of the Diane Warren’s track “One Heart (Can Change The World).” This revamped anthem will serve as the title song for the highly anticipated film “OZi: Voice of the Forest,” a project dedicated to raising global awareness about the devastating effects of climate change.
The collaboration hits close to home for the creative team, as both the song’s producer, Grammy winner Damon Elliott, and songwriter Diane Warren lost their own homes to the tragic Los Angeles wildfires last January.
The film is a major production backed by Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions, Mike Medavoy, and GCI Film. This family friendly adventure tells the emotional story of OZi, an orphaned orangutan who is separated from her parents during a fire provoked by humans. Growing up in a sanctuary, OZi eventually learns to use her voice and influencer skills to save her parents and her forest home from the threat of deforestation. By highlighting OZi’s journey, the film aims to educate audiences on how the destruction of natural habitats impacts global ecosystems and accelerates climate change.
The voice cast for the project is just as impressive as the musical lineup, featuring an elite roster of talent. Fans can expect to hear the voices of Laura Dern, Amandla Stenberg, Donald Sutherland, Djimon Hounsou, RuPaul Charles, Dean Charles Chapman, and Urzila Carlson.
This all star ensemble brings OZi’s world to life as she fights to protect her land and reunite with her family. The mission behind the film goes beyond the screen, as proceeds from the sales of the music and the movie will be donated directly to International Animal Rescue and Sumatran Orangutan to support real world conservation efforts.
Music lovers and environmental activists won’t have to wait much longer to support the movement, as the track is scheduled for a spring release.
