Domani Harris Admits He and Brother King Didn’t Talk to T.I. Before Responding to 50 Cent Drama [Video]

Domani Harris says he and his brother King Harris jumped into the 50 Cent situation without looping in their father, T.I., first.

During a recent appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” Domani explained that the decision to respond publicly came from impulse and emotion. He said the moment felt too important to sit on, even if his father might have advised a different approach. Instead of calling home for guidance, he chose to speak his mind and deal with the reaction later.

“We didn’t really have a conversation…Because he probably would have told, he probably would have had some input, and I would have had to choose to ignore him or go my own route,” Domani said.

He added that the response was more about personal expression than strategy. According to him, the track was simply something he felt compelled to release in the moment.

“So I just put it out because I felt like somebody told me, like, this is too good. Like, this is too good to not put out. I just do it because this is how I felt. This was on my mind. This is how I expressed myself. And it could just be like that, and it could just stay on the hard drive. I don’t even got to hear it again. I just needed to get it out.”

Domani also spoke about how his father handled hearing the response after the fact.

“Man, he’s a father, so now I understand it, and I understand why he picks and choose when and what to say and how much to say, because he don’t want to have too much impact or push his child in a direction that I naturally wouldn’t want to go into. So he really don’t say much, but I hear people tell me what he say.”

For Domani, the moment was less about permission and more about honesty. Sometimes the message just has to leave the hard drive.
