Dr. Heavenly Kimes, Congress run just got real. The “Married to Medicine” star and Atlanta-area dentist announced that she has officially qualified to run for the U.S. House of Representatives in Georgia’s 13th Congressional District, marking a major step in her political campaign.
Kimes shared the update with supporters, writing that after more than 25 years serving the community as a dentist and business owner, she is now answering what she calls a “bigger call” to fight for affordability, healthcare, and education.
The reality TV personality is running as a Democrat in the crowded 2026 primary race for Georgia’s 13th District, which currently includes longtime incumbent Rep. David Scott and several other challengers. The district covers parts of metro Atlanta and surrounding suburbs. The Democratic primary is scheduled for May 19, 2026.
Kimes has built her public profile both on television and in business. She has been a cast member on Bravo’s” Married to Medicine” since its early seasons and operates dental practices in the Atlanta area. Supporters of her campaign say her background as a doctor and entrepreneur gives her firsthand experience with healthcare access and small business challenges.
Her campaign platform focuses on lowering costs for families, expanding healthcare access, including dental and mental health services, improving education opportunities, and supporting economic growth for small businesses, according to the Dr. Heavenly for Georgia website.
Early voting for the primary begins April 27, according to Kimes’ campaign announcement.
Now the Bravo personality known for speaking her mind is stepping into a different arena, trading reunion stage debates for the political campaign trail.
