Donald Trump Attacks Nike Over Colin Kaepernick Ad and Boycotts

Donald Trump is now coming after #Nike following the active wear’s endorsement of Colin Kaepernick.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

On Labor Day, Nike revealed its new campaign which featured an image of Kaepernick with a powerful quote that read, “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.” While many fell in love with its relatable and poignant message others were angered, threatening to boycott the brand and recording videos of them destroying Nike items they’ve purchased.

In true Trump fashion, the celebrity-in-chief took to Twitter to voice his disdain for Nike’s choice. “Just like the NFL, whose ratings have gone WAY DOWN, Nike is getting absolutely killed with anger and boycotts,” he tweeted. “I wonder if they had any idea that it would be this way? As far as the NFL is concerned, I just find it hard to watch, and always will, until they stand for the FLAG!”

In the new commercial, you can hear Kaepernick’s as a voice over for the inspirational video which portrays everyday people working towards achieving their goals. Some of his lines are, “People say your dreams are crazy. If they laugh at what you think you can do, good,” says Kaepernick. “Stay that way. Because what non-believers fail to understand is that calling a dream crazy is not an insult, it’s a compliment.

He continues, “Don’t picture yourself wearing OBJ’s jersey, picture OBJ wearing yours. Don’t settle for homecoming queen or linebacker, do both. Lose 120 pounds and become an Ironman, after beating a brain tumor.”
