DJ Akademiks went after Meek Mill’s money on his Kick stream, calling him “the brokest rapper out of everybody” and telling him to stop talking like he is in Rick Ross territory.

The whole segment was built around one idea: Ak thinks Meek is flexing at a level he cannot back up. His test for it was blunt. If a rapper has the same things a streamer has, that rapper is not rich, and in Ak’s view should not be bragging like he is.Ross was the comparison he kept coming back to, and he was careful to say why. He pointed out we have never once heard Meek announce he owns a thirty million dollar property on Miami Beach. Ross, on the other hand, has the car collection, the jet, the Star Island property and the Atlanta estate, which is why Ak says Ross has earned the right to talk his big [expletive]. Meek has not.
Then he got to the cars, which is where the clip has been traveling fastest. Ak said Meek is “driving around a Urus like a scammer,” and repeated it for emphasis. He said he watches Meek brag about it and wonders whether Meek is going through something, because Ak’s own position is that whether his cars collect dust or not, he still has them.
That led him into a number about himself. He said he is tired of the cars at this point and that Progressive had just charged his insurance that day. Six thousand dollars a month for vehicles he does not drive, which he did the math on out loud: seventy two thousand a year, for what. He called it a waste of money and said it was only cool when he first got them. His point in sharing it was that the mentality Meek is still operating in is one Ak says he has already outgrown.
“You’re like 40 and 20 years in rap,” he said. “That’s all you have to show is a [expletive] car?”
He also answered the thing Meek has been saying about him directly. If Akademiks is out here ending rappers’ careers, Ak asked, why does he not have more money than the people he supposedly ended, and why is the come up being described as a new chair and a new house. He told Meek to stop saying “us.”
Then he pulled up receipts from years back, referencing an interview where Meek said he was down to his last million after the wheelie incident that landed him in custody, and said he could go find the clip. “That sounds like a tough life, brother,” he said. He ran through a list of artists Meek supposedly cannot be measured against, and finished the ranking by saying Meek does not even have the money of a streamer he name-checked.
The wrap was almost reasonable. Ak said he was not really trying to knock Meek, because these are depreciating assets anyway.
For anybody catching up, this is the latest round of a feud that has been running since at least 2020, when 21 Savage tried to mediate between them on Clubhouse. It reignited Saturday, September 12, the day after Lil Durk was acquitted on all counts in his federal murder for hire trial. Meek posted a series of messages on X saying Akademiks had gaslit every major young hip hop beef, that he gave 6ix9ine a platform while Durk fought for his life, and that he is there to destroy successful Black men from the streets. He told fans to unfollow and mute him, said Dream Chasers should build five streams run by people who know the culture, and said he would start streaming himself to drown Ak out. Meek also made several personal allegations about Akademiks that other outlets have said they are not reporting as fact.
The next escalation was uglier. Akademiks accused Meek of getting fans to leak his New Jersey address after Meek asked where he lived and said he wanted his first stream to happen outside Ak’s house. Ak’s answer was a video of a wall of firearms captioned “A collector.” No confrontation has happened and nobody has shown up anywhere, but that is the temperature this is running at.
Meek has not responded to the money segment yet.
