DJ Akademiks and Meek Mill are back at each other’s necks, but their latest exchange is carrying considerably more weight than the usual timeline roasting.
The Meek Mill DJ Akademiks feud escalated after Akademiks accused the Philadelphia rapper of encouraging people to expose his New Jersey address online. His response was hard to miss. Akademiks posted footage showing multiple firearms displayed on a wall and captioned the clip, “A collector.”

The post adds another layer to a conflict that has been boiling over since Lil Durk was acquitted in his federal murder-for-hire case. Following the verdict, Meek turned his attention toward Akademiks and called for hip-hop fans and artists to stop supporting his platform.
“Akademiks was in Durk’s case after he gas lit every major young hip hop beef…, let’s leave them in the dust … he broadcasted 69 while Durk fought for his life …. don’t contact him or touch his platform he’s here to destroy successful black men from the streets!” Meek wrote.
From there, the posts kept coming.
Meek accused Akademiks of using rap conflicts for engagement and argued that his coverage can help push already-heated situations even further. He also referenced past controversies involving the streamer while urging people to “mute” and block him.
“He gaslight all the major beefs and is laughing and joking and profiting from Durk’s and the victim of this case!” Meek wrote. “He got fried from y’all when he tried to seduce that lil boy.”
That statement reflects Meek’s accusation and should not be treated as an established finding.
Meek later accused Akademiks of “programming suburban kids” and using his large platform to “sway narratives.”
“He seduces kids… stars and gaslights beefs that would of never made it that far,” Meek wrote. “Profits off of people’s pain… Why is he here again… His page only gets engagement when somebody fails. … He destroying lives and laughing and joking about it and it’s been over 20 years he never gave back let’s get him out the way mute and block he’s bad for ya kids all around the board.”
Akademiks responded with his own framing of the situation.
On Sunday, he posted a screenshot appearing to show several missed video and audio calls from Meek.
“Obsession,” Akademiks wrote. “Goodbye Meek.”
Meek was not finished either. After Akademiks called him a “walking contradiction,” Meek responded, “You getting soooooooo fat too now [lol] ewwwwwwwww.”
For anyone who just tuned in, this is far from a new rivalry.
Akademiks has said their issues stretch back to 2017, when Meek and people affiliated with Dream Chasers reportedly took issue with how he covered them. Akademiks later recalled receiving a message telling him to either cover the group a certain way or stop covering them altogether.
By 2020, Meek had moved from criticizing Akademiks to openly calling for his cancellation. He accused the media personality of inflaming rap beefs and failing to contribute positively to the culture. Akademiks pushed back, and the feud eventually spilled onto Clubhouse that December.
Their heated conversation became intense enough that 21 Savage stepped in and helped mediate between them. The moment appeared to cool things down, but the peace did not last. The truce was temporary, with both men continuing to clash publicly over the years.
Then came 2024.
Their feud exploded again after producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs. While discussing the complaint, Akademiks connected clues surrounding a redacted name to speculation about Meek. Meek’s name was not visible in the lawsuit, and he strongly pushed back against the online speculation.
That confrontation quickly turned personal. Meek asked about Akademiks’ address and suggested he could pull up, while Akademiks challenged him to fight. Their exchange eventually attracted a $1 million celebrity boxing offer, although the proposed bout never happened.
Ironically, there was even a short-lived attempt to turn the beef into business. When Meek expressed interest in launching a podcast in March 2024, Akademiks floated a $1 million podcast offer while publicly suggesting the two could work together instead of fighting.
Clearly, whatever peace existed did not stick.
Now Durk’s acquittal has reopened an argument that goes deeper than two men trading insults. Meek’s central criticism is that Akademiks profits from and amplifies destructive moments in hip-hop. Akademiks has repeatedly rejected attacks on his platform and portrayed Meek as someone who keeps coming back despite claiming he wants him removed from the culture.
That contradiction is exactly what keeps their feud moving.
Still, this latest round looks different. Social media insults are one thing. Conversations involving home addresses followed by public displays of firearms create a much heavier visual, regardless of intent.
After nearly a decade of tension, neither Meek nor Akademiks appears ready to mute the other.
