Facebook Removes R. Kelly’s ‘Surviving Lies’ Fan Page

The platform stated the page violated its community standards. As the motion against R. Kelly and his alleged troubling acts against young black women continue to build, a Facebook page created in support of the singer to ‘expose’ his accusers was immediately taken down just after it was created.

As reported by TMZ, the page was created by a fan and became popular on social media after the Lifetime docuseries ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ premiered.

The six-part series premiered last week and over the weekend, narrating witnesses accounts of emotional, mental, and physical abuse against women and girls as young as 16 at the hands of the controversial singer.

The page seemed to be created by Kelly’s alleged fans and posted mugshots and text messages between the singer and his accusers, including Asante McGee and Faith Rodgers. McGee’s mugshots were freighted with text assuming she was working with Joycelyn Savage’s father to squeeze money from Kelly.

McGee resided with Kelly for two years in his now infamous Atlanta mansion whereas Rodgers dated Kelly for a year. Rodgers filed a lawsuit against the singer last year after she was apparently infected with herpes by R. Kelly.

The “Surviving Lies” Facebook page also involved a vacant GoDaddy website. However, after news surfaced of the page, it was erased with a statement that it “violated Community Standards.”

“The Page violated our Community Standards and has been removed. We do not tolerate bullying or sharing other’s private contact information and take action on content that violates our policies as soon as we’re aware,” the statement read.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If this informs us about anything, it’s that Kelly’s “fans” don’t seem to take any alleged comments from the women seriously.
