Fans of Tory Lanez have started several petitions to appeal the rapper’s conviction on felony charges related to the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.

Following Lanez’s guilty verdict on Friday, at least three petitions were started on Change.org.

The Chixtape rapper was convicted of three felonies, including assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. According to reports, the jurors also agreed that there were aggravating factors in the incident, which enhanced the penalties for the assault and negligence charges.

As of Tuesday, one of the petitions in support of Lanez had reached almost 40,000 signatures.

According to the petitions page, Tory’s trial was a “circus of speculation, insufficient evidence, inconsistencies, and drunken memories [that] left us without much moral certainty of any truth.”

Additionally, Tory’s fans are attacking the jury, accusing them of rushing to a decision and unjustly finding Tory guilty of all three felony firearm charges.
“This case is also about branding, marketing, label heads, and a music industry that pushes narratives based on who they have personally invested millions into.  Could Jay-Z or RocNation be involved??” the petition claims.
From there, it becomes racial,  “Was this case taken because of political pressure to fake protect black women?  African-Americans went along with hashtags that didn’t protect anyone & instead caused division between black women and black men.”
Since then, two other petition pages have been created. However, both have yet to reach more than 118 signatures.
Lanez’s sentencing is scheduled for January 23, but it remains unclear if Tory’s lawyers plan to appeal the verdict.
