During a recent sit-down on the “Million Dollaz Worth Of Game” podcast, Fetty Wap took a moment to highlight his sister, Divinity Maxwell-Butts, as the one person who stood ten toes down while he faced federal time. He explained that while many people showed love when he was free, things changed once he was behind bars.
“When that time happened, I’m just like ‘Alright, you know what? I got my sister,’” Fetty said, pointing to her as his immediate source of support.
He also kept it honest about friendships and how quickly dynamics can shift.
“Don’t get me wrong, I got love for a lot of my n***as…On the outside, they’ll do anything for me. When you present, everybody will do anything for you. But when you not around, you on their time now,” he explained.
However, his sister moved with urgency and consistency. Fetty shared that she handled serious legal responsibilities tied to his case, all while managing her own growing family.
“My sister moved on my time while she was dealing with a new husband, a new baby, pregnant, running around handling warrants and shit for me so my points could come down,” he said.
The New Jersey artist, born Willie Maxwell II, was sentenced in 2023 to six years in prison after pleading guilty to a federal drug trafficking conspiracy. The case involved distribution across multiple states and followed his initial 2021 arrest and a later bond violation.
Although his release was originally projected for 2029, Fetty was transferred to home confinement in January 2026.
