A Florida man accused of flying to the Chicago area to attack his ex girlfriend’s new boyfriend had his bail set at $1 million this week, according to Patch and details shared by prosecutors at a Cook County bond hearing on Thursday.
Justin, 28, of Tallahassee, is charged with attempted murder in connection with the March attack on a 26 year old man in Des Plaines, Illinois. Justin is presumed innocent, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
Prosecutors say Justin was upset that his ex girlfriend had started dating someone new. They allege he flew from Atlanta to O’Hare International Airport, rented a car and drove to Des Plaines, where he struck the man with a tire iron, carved initials into his leg and inflicted a severe injury before heading back to the airport and flying home.
The man survived. Prosecutors say he spent months in the hospital and suffered permanent brain damage.
Justin was arrested in Florida in late August and brought to Illinois in September. Patch reports that police needed an extensive investigation, including dozens of search warrants, before charges were filed.
At Thursday’s hearing, Assistant State’s Attorney Luis Muniz argued against a monetary bond, calling it “a very heinous crime” and saying Justin knows where the victim lives and could be a danger. The defense asked for bail of $250,000.
Judge Anjana Hansen set bail at $1 million, saying Justin poses a threat and a flight risk, according to Patch. If he posts bond, he must stay away from the victim. Justin is due back in court next week, and we will keep you posted as the case moves forward.

Yikes! This is crazy. I would’ve definitely recommended this man using a penis health creme to help keep the penis enriched with essential vitamins and nutrients that are necessary to penis health. These ingredients can help with blood flow, any irritation you might be experiencing, and just plain and simple give your penis the extra care it deserves. Thank me later!
