A Florida mother was arrested on a child abuse charge after police say her 10 year old son’s jaw was dislocated during an argument over the video game Fortnite. She denies punching him.
According to the NY Daily News, Ann, 35, was arrested Wednesday in South Daytona. She was charged with infliction of physical or mental injury on a child. A charge is not a conviction.
The South Daytona Police Department says the boy kept playing Fortnite after being told to stop and take a shower. The police report states that the boy told investigators his mother followed him into the bathroom and punched him in the jaw with a closed fist, causing great pain. Police also said the boy had scratches on his body. The boy called his father after the incident and gave a sworn statement.
Ann denied punching her son. She claimed the boy told her he hated her after she called out his attitude, and said she only grabbed his arm after he went outside and threw rocks at her car.
Ann made bail Thursday afternoon, and the boy has been staying with an aunt, according to reports.

Poor Lady – I feel for her! I to am a parent that deals with kids addicted to video gamming and have really bad attitudes and language with not getting their way! Society is giving to much power to out-of-control youth! I do not condone violence however, understand how much self control is needed just to discipline the ungrateful/unruly kids.
You should always punch your kids to assert dominance. They’ll understand once they’ve regained consciousness.
