Police say a former Dallas Mavericks Mavs Maniaacs dancer is accused of a shooting spree that left four people dead in Dallas and DeSoto, Texas, on Wednesday night.
According to the Dallas Observer, Erbie, 44, is accused of entering the Southwest Dallas home of his ex-girlfriend around 10:30 pm and opening fire. Toya, 43, and her 17 year old daughter were killed. Toya’s 14 year old son and a family friend were taken to a hospital with injuries.
Police said he then drove to a home in DeSoto that belonged to his estranged wife, Zina. NBC News reported that police said a hand grenade was thrown into the living room before shots were fired. Zina and a woman named Neima, 28, were killed, and two boys at the home were wounded. The Dallas Morning News and WFAA reported that he told arriving officers he was one of the victims until they determined he was not hurt.
Erbie was taken into custody without incident and charged with capital murder in DeSoto, and Dallas police said they were preparing capital murder charges as well. Police said they believe he was targeting his ex-girlfriend and his estranged wife. As with any case, he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
