Court documents out of Miami are shedding light on a child support and custody case involving former NFL running back Ricky Williams, according to The Jasmine Brand.
The outlet reports that a massage therapist named Heidy took Williams to court, claiming the two were involved from 2009 to 2010 and that her son was born in 2011. Heidy reportedly asked for child support and sole custody.
According to the documents, Williams disputed her claims at first, saying he was married at the time and that the case was about money. TMZ reported in March 2014 that Williams denied fathering the child. The Jasmine Brand reports that Williams has since filed his own court papers. In them, he reportedly pushes back on the request for sole custody, saying it is not in the best interest of the child to be with his mother alone, and denies abandoning the child. He also reportedly says he is able to pay child support but asks that health insurance costs be split between them.
These are claims and responses from court filings, and nothing has been decided based on the reporting we saw. Baller Alert did not see a public comment from Williams beyond what appears in the documents.
