The baby conversation took off after one of the rapper’s friends appeared to accidentally mention a baby while he was sitting on a livestream during New York Fashion Week.

French was seated next to streamer N3on and an unidentified woman at a New York Fashion Week event on Monday, September 14. At one point, the woman turned to French and told him, “I’m so happy for you.” French responded, “For real? Why?” She answered, “Because of the baby.”Instead of correcting her, French appeared to immediately realize that the conversation was being recorded. He put a finger to his mouth in an apparent attempt to quiet her. When the woman replied, “Nobody hears me,” French pointed directly toward the lapel microphone attached to his clothing. She then covered her mouth after seemingly realizing her comment had gone out on the livestream.
That reaction is what turned the exchange into a major French Montana baby rumor. French did not verbally say that Sheikha Mahra is pregnant, and the exchange should not be treated as an official pregnancy announcement. Still, his decision to hush the conversation rather than deny the baby comment has people wondering whether his friend revealed news that was not supposed to be public yet.
If the speculation is accurate, it would mark another major milestone in a relationship that moved from quiet dating rumors to an engagement in less than a year.
French and Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum were first romantically linked in October 2024. Mahra, the daughter of Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, shared images at the time showing herself giving French a tour of Dubai. The pair later made their romance much harder to miss when they appeared together during Paris Fashion Week.
