George Zimmerman’s hunt for online romance has hit a snag, according to the New York Post. Tinder removed a profile in his name after it was reported.
Per the Post, Zimmerman, 35, who was acquitted in 2013 in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, was reportedly using the app under the name “Carter” and describing himself as a Liberty University graduate looking for “carefree fun.” A Tinder spokesperson confirmed the removal to the Post, saying, “At Tinder, we take our users’ safety very seriously, and our team has removed this profile from our platform.”
Screenshots of the profile reportedly listed him as self employed.
This is reportedly the second time he has been taken off a dating app this year. A Bumble spokesperson said in February that he was “blocked and banned” from that app. We have not seen a public response from Zimmerman.
