On Sunday, a ghost submarine floating in the Pacific Ocean was found with two dead bodies and $87.7 million worth of cocaine.

Colombian officials say the 49-foot-long submarine had 2.6 tons of cocaine on board.

In addition to the two deceased, two other survivors needed immediate medical attention.

“Once the illegal device was located, military personnel found two individuals in poor health outside the vessel,” said Colombia’s Ministry of National Defense.

“Apparently, there was an accident inside the semi-submersible due to the generation of toxic gases from the fuel,” the statement continued.

“The two men were treated and transported to a nearby vessel, where they were given the necessary medical attention to safeguard their lives.”

The statement added that the survivors, the corpses, and the cocaine were brought to the municipality of Tumaco, “where they were presented to the Technical Investigation Corps of the Attorney General’s Office.”

The navy’s attempts to stop drug trafficking were praised by the Colombian government, which claimed that it kept more than 6 million doses off the black market.

Additionally, authorities released a video of the moment the officers boarded the partly submerged boat and laid out the numerous cocaine bricks they had just discovered.

According to local media, The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) are believed to be the owners of three submarines that the government recently seized.

After Sunday’s bust, Colombia’s Ministry of National Defense declared that it was determined to take action against any narco vessels operating within its borders.
