Ginuwine has responded after fans and his wife, Sole, criticized an Instagram joke he made about his daughter.
According to a screenshot shared by Rhymes With Snitch, Ginuwine wrote that it was only a joke. He said he gave his daughter the money, said something he thought people would take as humor, and added that he would never call his daughter “anything other than my angel.” He closed by apologizing to her.
Critics said the joke was in poor taste because it involved a child, and Sole had already publicly said she did not want their daughter humiliated. Ginuwine has since reportedly deleted the photos from Instagram.
Joke or not, it is a good reminder that what gets posted for likes can land very differently with the people closest to you.
