The girlfriend of Anthony Warner, the Nashville Christmas bomber, warned police last year that her boyfriend was making bombs in his R.V., according to the New York Times.

An attorney for his unidentified girlfriend told the Metro Nashville Police that Warner “frequently talks about the military and bomb-making.” In 2019, officers met with the woman, and she gave a statement. According to reports obtained by the New York Times, when officers went to Warner’s duplex, he did not answer the door.

State and federal officials identified Warner’s R.V. as the R.V. that exploded on Christmas in downtown Nashville. The explosion injured three people and shut down telecommunications in the area. Warner was killed during the incident.

Despite being warned, the police did not have any suspicions about Warner.

“He was not on our radar,” David B. Rausch, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, said. “He was not someone that was identified as a person of interest for the bureau. So we were not familiar with this individual until this incident.”
