Baltimore Ravens security director Darren Sanders has been placed on paid leave after a stadium employee accused him of groping her, according to police and court documents. Sanders denies the allegations through his lawyers.
The documents say the woman, who works security at M&T Bank Stadium, was asked to escort Sanders after the Ravens beat the Jaguars on December 14. She told police he made comments about her appearance and touched her inappropriately more than once as they walked, then pressed against her and kissed her neck. A witness reportedly saw part of the interaction, and police were called several hours after the game.
Ravens senior vice president Kevin Byrne said Sanders was placed on paid leave. He will not travel with the team to Pittsburgh for Saturday’s playoff game. TMZ first reported the leave, and ESPN and the Associated Press added details from the court documents.
These are allegations and no finding has been made. Sanders’s lawyers say he denies them.
