New details came out in federal court this week in the case against former NFL star Darren Sharper, who faces rape and drugging allegations in several states and has pleaded not guilty.

According to testimony reported by CBS News and Deadspin, prosecutors say text messages found on the phone of Brandon, a former St. Bernard Parish sheriff’s deputy, include exchanges with Darren in which the two referred to drugged drinks as “potion” and “horny juice.” One message that prosecutors say came from Darren reads, “She’s on the potion. She’s ready.” Brandon is being held without bond on charges of distributing drugs. The texts are allegations presented by prosecutors, and they have not been proven at trial.

FBI Special Agent Robert Blythe also testified that Brandon told investigators he attended a convention in Las Vegas where an NFL player warned him that drinks had been spiked. Agent Blythe said he did not identify the player or any other players, because he was not certain he remembered the names correctly. Brandon acknowledged he did not report the warning to police, and Agent Blythe said there was no open investigation in Las Vegas at the time.

No other players have been named or charged in connection with that testimony.

Baller Alert will keep following the case as it moves through the courts. Everyone charged is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
