IBest Wines Cuts Bottle Weight by 43% as Costco Southern California Rollout Begins

IBest Wines is entering a new chapter with a move that blends luxury branding with sustainability in a way the wine industry rarely pulls off cleanly. The South African wine company, founded by Wine Négociant Ingrid Best, announced the debut of a newly redesigned bottle that is 43 percent lighter than its previous packaging while also confirming its official launch inside Costco stores across Southern California.

The rollout marks a major retail expansion for the brand, which has steadily built visibility through high-profile placements and industry recognition. The lighter bottle is designed to reduce the company’s carbon footprint without sacrificing the premium look tied to the IBest Wines identity. As luxury brands continue talking about sustainability, IBest Wines is making it part of the actual product experience.

“As IBest Wines continues to scale through partners like Costco, it was important to me that our growth reflects the future we want to see – luxury, sustainability, and scale coexisting in the same experience,” said founder and CEO Ingrid Best.

The Costco partnership places the company inside one of the country’s most influential wine retail spaces, with Southern California serving as the first phase of distribution. Additional markets are expected to follow.

The momentum comes after IBest Wines secured Rolling Stone Spirits Awards’ Best Wine of 2025 honor and expanded into American Airlines Flagship First international service. The brand has also landed placement in duty free retail at Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport and recently earned a feature in Forbes Women.
