Ice Spice is setting the record straight about her recent weight loss and the rumors attached to it.
After months of online speculation tying her slimmer appearance to Ozempic, the Bronx rapper addressed the chatter directly. The conversation heated up when a 30-second clip of her working out made rounds online. In the video, she is seen doing leg presses, crunches, and planks. One user reposted the clip and claimed it “just shows it was definitely from Ozempic,” suggesting the medication caused the weight loss rather than exercise.
Ice Spice responded herself, writing, “na it was depression im better now tho.”

Ozempic, the brand name for semaglutide, is approved to treat type 2 diabetes and has become widely discussed for its weight loss effects. Because several public figures have faced questions about the drug, speculation spreads quickly whenever someone’s appearance changes.
However, medical experts explain that depression can also affect appetite and body weight. The American Psychiatric Association states, “Major depressive disorder can cause changes in appetite and weight. Some people who have major depressive disorder lose weight because of a decrease in appetite.”
Ice Spice has not provided further details about her experience. Still, her message made one thing clear. Her weight loss was connected to her mental health, and she says she is doing better now.
