Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins was booked into a Beaumont, Texas, jail early this morning on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
He wasn’t alone. Milwaukee Bucks forward Stephen Jackson was also arrested. Both have posted bond and been released.
The two were in Beaumont, Perkins’ hometown, for a basketball camp and a celebrity game that ended up being canceled earlier this week. Perkins was also briefly hospitalized this week for what was described as dehydration and food poisoning.
Details of what led to the arrests haven’t been released, though there is talk that the two were involved in some kind of scuffle. Neither player has commented.
With the NBA lockout dragging on, players have a lot of free time. This is not the best way to spend it.
