Jacquees arrested in Hollywood, Florida, on Sunday became the latest chapter in the singer’s long history with police, and as of Sunday afternoon he was still sitting in Broward County’s Main Jail. The singer, 32, whose real name is Rodriquez Jacquees Broadnax, was booked on three charges including DUI and battery on an officer, according to Broward County booking information reviewed by AllHipHop.
The booking record shows a $0 bond on all three charges, with the bond type marked “HG,” and no expected release date. The record does not say whether he was denied bond outright or is being held until he goes before a judge.
What happened before the cuffs came out is still unknown. Hollywood police have not released an arrest report or explained what led officers to stop him, and the third charge on his booking has not been made public. There has been no statement from Jacquees or his team.
Sunday’s arrest adds to a record that stretches back almost a decade. In March 2018, during spring break, Miami Beach police said an officer spotted him driving a black Lamborghini down Ocean Drive without a seat belt. According to the arrest report, he kept rolling slowly through traffic after being told to pull over, refused to step to the sidewalk once he got out, and told the officer not to touch him. He was charged with failure to obey a police officer and disorderly conduct, booked on a $1,000 bond, and released.
A few months later, police near Atlanta said they clocked him doing 116 mph on Interstate 85. Officers said something was thrown out of the passenger side window before he stopped, and that he later told them it was marijuana. That stop ended with charges of speeding, reckless driving, littering, and possession of a controlled substance.
The last time fans saw Jacquees arrested, in June 2023, the story was messier. Gwinnett County police said he was drunk and fighting with security at the Local Tap, a bar near the Mall of Georgia, when a female employee told officers he choked her and bit her hand. Police said he tried to run from officers in a nearby parking lot until one of them hit him with a stun gun. He was charged with simple battery and obstruction of law enforcement, both misdemeanors in Georgia, and was out hours later on a $3,700 bond after putting down $40. The court ordered him to stay away from the woman and the bar.
His mugshot from that night, showing a swollen lip and a bruised eye, went viral. He still made his show in Scottsdale, Arizona, that same weekend, performing in a black ski mask and sunglasses.
