A new lane is opening at BET, and Jason Lee is stepping in as the face of it. His upcoming digital series, “The Jason Lee Show,” is set to premiere on April 8 at 8:01 a.m. ET, launching as the flagship program for the network’s newly introduced BET Creator Studio.
The show blends Lee’s real-time lifestyle with sit-down conversations featuring celebrity guests, but it also leans into something bigger. Each episode promises a behind-the-scenes look at the mechanics of influence, pulling viewers into the strategy, pressure, and access that shape modern pop culture narratives. The series positions Lee not just as a commentator, but as someone actively operating inside the rooms where those narratives begin.
“I’ve been in rooms most people will never get into, and now I’m bringing audiences with me,” Lee said in a statement. “This show isn’t just about entertainment. It’s about the power of culture: how it’s built, how it’s kept, and how it’s used. BET gives us the platform to tell that story at the scale it deserves.”
The rollout also signals a larger shift for BET. The Creator Studio is designed as a pipeline for digital talent, including podcasters and social-first creators, to expand their reach through the network’s infrastructure.
“Black creators have always driven culture, now we’re giving them the infrastructure to own it,” said Orchid Richardson, BET’s SVP of digital and social. “The BET Creator Studio is where authentic storytelling meets serious distribution, and that combination is incredibly powerful.”
