Jordyn Woods Says Her Wedding Was “Filled With Love,” But She And Karl-Anthony Towns Wanted The Night To Feel Different

Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns have officially entered their married era after turning years of friendship and love into an intimate celebration overlooking the Pacific Ocean. According to Vogue, the couple married on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at a private home in Malibu surrounded by family and friends. The new look inside the Jordyn Woods wedding reveals that despite the glamorous setting, the couple wanted the weekend to feel personal rather than performative.

Their road to the altar began long before either of them knew they would become husband and wife. According to Vogue, Woods and Towns first met in Los Angeles in 2017 while Towns was spending time in California during the basketball offseason. They developed a friendship before beginning a romantic relationship in 2020. The outlet reported that the two became especially close while supporting one another through deeply personal losses, including the deaths of Woods’ father and Towns’ mother.

That foundation eventually led to an engagement on Christmas Eve 2025. Per Vogue, Towns planned the proposal privately and designed Woods’ engagement ring himself. The approximately 15-carat De Beers emerald-cut diamond also included personal details honoring their families. After getting engaged, the couple quickly decided they did not want a long engagement, partly because Towns’ NBA schedule made summer the clearest opportunity to celebrate.

The Jordyn Woods wedding could have happened overseas, but the couple ultimately chose a place with deeper meaning. According to Vogue, Woods considered destinations including the South of France and Rome before deciding Malibu felt right. Woods explained that California is home and that the ocean became a place of reflection for her following her father’s death.

When the wedding day arrived, the emotional weight of the moment immediately took over. In Vogue’s Instagram coverage, Woods described seeing Towns as she walked toward him at the ceremony.

“All I could see was him. It was one of those rare moments where you are completely present,” Woods said.

The cliffside ceremony was only part of their wedding story. According to Vogue, Woods and Towns quietly completed a civil ceremony at the Santa Barbara courthouse on August 11, four days before the larger Malibu celebration. For the main ceremony, Woods wore a custom Danielle Frankel gown and carried cascading white calla lilies, while Towns wore Ralph Lauren. The couple also exchanged matching Tiffany & Co. Sixteen Stone wedding bands before privately reading vows they had written for one another.

Fashion played a major role throughout the Jordyn Woods wedding weekend. In separate coverage of Woods’ final fitting, Vogue reported that she had only about six months to create her bridal wardrobe. Woods worked with Danielle Frankel on multiple custom looks, including her ceremony gown. Towns, meanwhile, selected Ralph Lauren for his wedding wardrobe, connecting his personal style to both New York and a brand he had admired long before reaching NBA stardom.

The couple was just as deliberate about the atmosphere of the reception. According to Vogue, guests moved into a glass tent decorated with lace, satin, and sage green details before the evening transitioned into dinner and dancing. A 15-piece band performed before a DJ took over, helping the celebration capture the throwback energy Woods and Towns wanted.

“We wanted there to be real connection and for everyone to put their phones down,” Towns told Vogue.

The guest list also brought together entertainment, fashion, and basketball. Vogue reported that Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, Hailey and Justin Bieber, Gayle King, Jaden Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Ben Stiller, Michael B. Jordan, and several of Towns’ New York Knicks teammates attended. People reported that King later recalled seeing Towns smiling as Woods approached the altar and described the newlyweds as visibly happy during the ceremony.

Still, the celebrity turnout was not what Woods said she would remember most. Her comments to Vogue repeatedly returned to the love surrounding the couple and the feeling they wanted guests to carry home after the Jordyn Woods wedding. After a night filled with food, dancing, music, and time with the people closest to them, Woods summed up the experience simply in Vogue’s social coverage.

“It was filled with love, and I wouldn’t change the experience for the world,” says the bride.
