Her full name is Christin Munn-Holliday, and she is the mother of a 4-year-old boy who is waiting for her to come home. According to Louisiana State Police, the crash happened during the early morning hours of September 30 on Interstate 10 eastbound near milepost 128 in Iberville Parish, along the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. Investigators believe she was driving one of the vehicles involved. A preliminary investigation indicates she left the scene on foot after the collision and has not been located since. What happened next is still unknown. Authorities have not released details about what led up to the crash, and they have not publicly established what happened to Chrissy Munn-Holliday after she walked away from it.
Two law enforcement agencies are now working the case. Louisiana State Police Troop A is handling the hit-and-run investigation. On October 1, troopers learned she had also been reported missing to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, which remains the lead agency on the missing person case. State police say investigators from both agencies are in contact and will keep coordinating.
Both investigations remain active and ongoing,” Trooper Shelby Mayfield with Louisiana State Police said.
Mayfield added that additional investigative details are not being released to protect the integrity of the investigations.
Her father, Robert Munn, has put up the $20,000 reward. The family is also raising money to hire a private investigator and an attorney. According to information provided by her parents, they have been traveling back and forth between Texas and Louisiana to meet with investigators, follow possible leads, and take part in the search for their daughter.
The search has also drawn volunteers. The United Cajun Navy has reportedly joined the effort, using boats, drones, and volunteers on foot to cover the areas near where she was last seen. The terrain makes the work difficult. Parts of the Atchafalaya Basin are surrounded by swamps, waterways, and wooded terrain, which means searchers are combing ground that is hard to reach and easy to lose a trail in.
A flyer with her photo and information has been widely shared on social media in recent days. For the family, every day without answers adds to the fear. Her loved ones remain hopeful that someone will come forward with information that can bring Chrissy Munn-Holliday home to her son.
Munn-Holliday was last reported wearing a purple jumpsuit and a denim jacket. She is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 120 pounds, and she may have been wearing a heart necklace.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-221-6000.
