K. Michelle stopped by Power 105’s The Breakfast Club this week and had plenty to say about a few of the names in her orbit.
On the subject of Bobby Maze, she described him as a longtime friend she could turn to for advice. She said that friendship eventually turned into a relationship, and that things got complicated when the mother of his children came at her over his involvement with his kids. That is K. Michelle’s account of what happened. Bobby Maze’s side was not part of the interview.
She also addressed the talk about her, Meek Mill and Elle Varner. K. Michelle said she had a crush on Meek Mill, but that the two never dated. She said she supported Elle through a hard breakup, and that she felt Elle later borrowed from her style of angry, scorned woman music. According to K. Michelle, she also told Elle not to release a song that sounded like it was meant for her, and the song came out anyway. She says that deepened the rift and led to her parting ways with the management team the two shared. Elle Varner was not part of the interview.
Our take: heartbreak has always fueled great music, and plenty of singers have made records out of a rough breakup. Whether or not the two ever patch things up, this clears up where K. Michelle stands.
K. Michelle covered a lot more ground in the full interview, so catch the whole thing on The Breakfast Club’s channels.
