Kanye West is the subject of a police investigation in Beverly Hills after an alleged confrontation at a medical building involving Kim Kardashian and an 18 year old man.
According to CBS Los Angeles, Beverly Hills police responded around midday Monday to a report of misdemeanor battery on Wilshire Boulevard. Police said the alleged victim and several witnesses identified West as the suspect, that West had already left before officers arrived, and that detectives are conducting a follow up investigation.
TMZ reported its own version of what led up to it. Per TMZ, Kim was swarmed by photographers outside the building when the young man allegedly tried to help her inside, then began shouting insults at the photographers. TMZ says Kim told him a racial slur was not appropriate, and that he then allegedly directed racial and personal insults at her. TMZ reports Kim called Kanye, who arrived and found the man in a waiting room, where witnesses say Kanye punched him. TMZ says someone in the office separated the two and that Kim said they had it all on tape.
TMZ also reports the 18 year old told police he wants to press charges, and that law enforcement sources say the matter could be referred to the Los Angeles County District Attorney for possible prosecution. Those details come from TMZ’s sources and have not been confirmed by police. No statement from Kanye or his representatives was included in the reports.
No charges had been filed at the time of this report. It is an allegation, and we will see what the investigation turns up. What do you think? Could this have been avoided?
