On Wednesday, Keshia Knight Pulliam sat down with Entertainment Tonight to share her side of what led to her abrupt split with husband Ed Hartwell. In the interview, Keshia dismisses rumors that she ever cheated on Hartwell and that their daughter could possibly not be his.
“I have never cheated on him during my marriage,” says Keshia. “That’s not who I am.”
Keshia then says that she will have the paternity test Hartwell requested. “That’s not an issue, no problem. I’ve never been unfaithful to my husband. This is his daughter.”
Pulliam then breaks down into tears over her innocent child being dragged into this divorce drama. “It’s not about me. The biggest thing, my priority is, she doesn’t deserve it.”
That’s not where the drama ends, though. According to Keshia, it was her husband of 6 months who actually did the cheating. “Early in our marriage when I was faced with this, I was ready to leave. I had divorce papers ready. I presented them to him and he begged for another [chance]. He said all the right things and once I was pregnant, I did decide to give him that one last chance.”
Keshia and Ed dated for four months before becoming engaged on New Years Eve. They secretly got married in January. Last week Keshia announced she was pregnant with the couple’s first child and days later Ed filed for divorce. According to Keshia, she was completely blindsided by the divorce news. She says that Ed still slept in bed with her as he did any other day. He left the house as he did on any other day, but on this day in particular he text her and told her “This isn’t working, I filed for divorce this morning and I’m coming to get my stuff.”
Keshia says that she is planning to sell the couple’s home before the baby is born and when asked if she still loves her husband she responds, “I love who he pretended to be.”
