Khloe Kardashian reportedly stands to walk away with at least $7 million from her divorce from Lamar Odom, thanks to the prenup the couple signed before their 2009 wedding.
Kardashian filed for divorce in Los Angeles on December 13, citing irreconcilable differences after four years of marriage. According to Us Weekly, the prenup lets her keep the couple’s $4 million Tarzana home and her $1 million Vartan engagement ring, a 12.5 carat radiant cut diamond. A source told the magazine that she will also receive $500,000 for every year of the marriage, which adds up to $2 million. “Khloe and Lamar have nothing to worry about as far as finances,” the source said. “Their pre-nup is ironclad.”
In her filing, Kardashian asked the court to restore her maiden name and to treat certain assets, including her jewelry, as her separate property. TMZ reported that she is not asking for spousal support and wants the judge to block Odom from receiving any. Celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser is reportedly handling the case, which is expected to move quickly because of the prenup.
The filing follows months of speculation about the marriage, after Kardashian was spotted without her wedding ring and Odom was arrested on suspicion of DUI in August. Kardashian pushed back on the latest wave of chatter on Twitter Wednesday. “This, in and of itself, is heart breaking and torture to my soul,” she wrote. “Please, I don’t need the extra rumors and BS right now.”
The tweet came after Kardashian was seen out with Los Angeles Dodgers star Matt Kemp, sparking rumors that the two are dating. Neither has confirmed a relationship.
