Kim Kardashian is done with the narrative about her relationship with her eldest daughter. During a candid conversation on her sister Khloé’s podcast, “Khloé in Wonderland,” Kim addressed the constant public scrutiny over how North West expresses herself.

From colored braids to fake piercings, Kim is making it clear that while she nurtures North’s creativity, there is a strict structure behind the scenes that the public doesn’t see. One of the biggest misconceptions Kim wanted to clear up is the idea that she has no boundaries with her ten-year-old.
“The one misconception that people might have is like, ‘Oh, she’s trying to be her bestie and lets her get away with a lot.’ No, Northie actually has a lot of rules,” Kim explained. She noted that while she allows North to experiment with her look, revealing that North has been wearing fake septum rings and colored braids since pre-K, it is all part of supporting a child who is unapologetically herself.
The reality star also gave fans a peek into North’s unique homeschooling life, which is far from traditional. According to Kim, they use interactive learning to turn North’s interests into educational milestones.
“Math will give budgets… we’ll go around and get stuff and add it all up, subtract it all,” Kim shared, adding that North even takes a brand-building course where she handles everything from web design to material sourcing for her own jewelry and hat ideas.
Kim’s commitment to North’s passions goes beyond the classroom, including summer fashion camps at FIT in New York. However, Kim admits that being so hands-on is a massive undertaking.
“I nurture her, but it’s a full-time job even for me and her teacher. I think people don’t realize, like I’m with her and the kids 24/7,” she said. She even revealed that they’ve turned North’s interest in music into a learning tool, using her lyrics as part of her spelling tests during eight-hour home sessions.
Ultimately, Kim wants people to know that there is a brilliant, hardworking girl behind the viral outfits.
“I think they would be proud to see how smart she really is and how creative she is,” Kim said. “I can only dream that my children all find a passion and purpose as young as she has.”
By merging traditional subjects with real-world business applications, Kim is clearly preparing North to take over the family empire on her own terms.
