Kim Kardashian dressed up as her daughter North West for Halloween, posting photos of herself in blue hair, black grills, emo-style clothing, and black and silver chrome nails.

The costume copies the look North has made her own. The blue hair matches the color North has worn since the summer of 2025, and the black grills mirror the custom set she has been flashing since that same year. The chrome nails nod to the bold manicures North regularly shows off on the joint TikTok account she shares with her mom.The tribute lands after months of heat aimed at both of them. North, who is 13, has been criticized over her blue hair, fake face tattoos, fake piercings, and grills, and some commenters have questioned Kim’s parenting. Last October, Kim said North answered critics by reminding them the tattoos and piercings were part of a Halloween costume and fake. Kim called it a good clapback.
Kim has stood by her daughter’s choices from the start. On the Call Her Daddy podcast, she described North as really confident and said her daughter tells her she does not care that people dislike the blue hair. Kim has also said, “Babe, if you want blue hair, it is what it is.”
North has spoken up for herself too. In a recent TikTok livestream with her mom, she told viewers to stop calling her demonic and said, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.”

Her style has only gotten louder. North appears in Dazed magazine’s autumn 2026 issue with turquoise blue hair and facial piercings. Earlier this month, she wore all black with blue braids, a silver skull pendant and a spiked bracelet to the 10th anniversary ComplexCon festival in Los Angeles, where she was photographed with her dad Kanye West and stepmom Bianca Censori. In September, she wore a white gothic Lolita style outfit for her first solo headline show at Chicago’s Vic Theatre.
Halloween costumes have become a tradition between Kim and North. In 2023, they matched as Cher and Dionne from “Clueless,” with North braiding her hair like Dionne. Last year, Kim wore fake facial hair and a neck tattoo to play TikTok comedian Guapõ while North played his sister Pink Cardigan and Kris Jenner played their mother Chrissy G. Guapõ himself praised the effort, and Kim credited North for putting her on to him.
Kim’s costume history stretches back further. She dressed as Aaliyah in 2017, a look that drew cultural appropriation criticism, and as Elle Woods from “Legally Blonde” in 2019.
This year, the costume is North.
