Kris Jenner is formally accusing Ray J of waging a yearslong public campaign against her daughter Kim Kardashian, according to a new court filing.
In a declaration submitted as part of her ongoing defamation lawsuit, Jenner alleges that Ray J made “outrageous and untrue” claims that she and Kardashian were under federal investigation. Jenner states in the filing that the allegations are false and damaging.
“To say that my daughter and I are being pursued for doing something worse than Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a horrific lie,” Jenner wrote. She added that she has “never been accused or charged with a crime.”
The declaration describes Kardashian’s past relationship with Ray J as brief but claims the public fallout has continued for decades.
“[O]ver the past two decades, I have had to watch [Ray J] publicly terrorize my daughter by continually talking, and lying, about her in the press to try and keep himself relevant,” Jenner stated.
Jenner further wrote that each time Ray J speaks about her family, it triggers a “wave of attention” and scrutiny. She said it has been “extremely difficult to watch my daughter endure this cycle of scrutiny brought on by [Ray J].”
According to the filing, Jenner says the recent statements “go too far” and caused her “significant emotional distress.” She added, “My family is of the utmost importance to me. It is deeply painful to watch my daughter experience the stress brought upon her by [Ray J], and her feelings of hopelessness and his harassment will never end.”
Jenner also wrote that she is “deeply angered, insulted and shaken by the accusations,” expressing concern that the claims could harm the business she has built over decades.
“I took this step because I could no longer bear [Ray J’s] campaign of harassment against my daughter and my family or to watch my daughter cry again over the lies he’s painted about us,” she stated.
Kardashian has also filed her own declaration in the case.
