Just when it seemed the drama had been put to rest, Latto may have reignited her feud with Cardi B — and she chose arguably the biggest moment of her career to do it.
“Big Mama,” Latto’s fourth and reportedly final studio album, dropped May 29, 2026. The Atlanta rapper had called it her “retirement album” on X, stunning fans given that she’s only 28 years old. The project arrives during one of the most personal chapters of her life, following her pregnancy reveal and her relationship with 21 Savage.
But buried inside the 17-track LP is a track called “Gimme Dat” and fans are convinced it’s a direct message to Cardi B. Over the beat, Latto raps: “B***h said what? Let’s clock it / Really got a Hermes store in my closet / Talkin’ ’bout buyin’ big mama a bag like my n***a ain’t already bought it / Like my n***a ain’t comin’ off racks / Big bank over here, big facts / Wish a b***h would get in that booth / I’m callin’ up PlaqueBoyMax.”
The bag line is where it gets pointed. It’s a clear callback to Cardi’s public apology last fall.

The Leaked Call That Started It All
In September 2025, audio leaked of a phone call between Cardi B and Ice Spice’s manager. In the clip, the Bronx star can be heard yelling, “Y’all think I’m f**king p***y a** Latto?” The clip spread instantly. On September 30th, Cardi issued a public apology to Latto on X, writing: “I was ranting and hot at the moment but I f**k with Latto HEAVY!! I respect everything about her including her team… I’m not too prideful to apologize to somebody I really respect so this my public apology and now ima privately buy her a bag.”
Denied Once, Now Doubled Down?
Things appeared squashed — at least publicly. When Latto performed “Put It On Da Floor” at Japan’s Force Festival and fans speculated her ad-libs were a subliminal shot at Cardi, Latto shut it down herself, commenting under a blog’s video: “Well, no.” Additionally, Latto was also featured on Cardi’s album, “Am I The Drama?” appearing on “ErrTime.”
That denial makes “Gimme Dat” all the more striking. Whether it’s a long-simmering response or a farewell statement from an artist going out on her own terms, Latto has left little room for misinterpretation. The ball is now firmly in Cardi B’s court.
