Lil Wayne’s personal life is back in the spotlight after reports claimed the rapper quietly got engaged earlier this year to a woman from Indiana reportedly in her 20s.
TMZ first reported the alleged engagement, though Wayne and his representatives have not publicly confirmed the news. Still, the report spread quickly online, with fans immediately revisiting the rapper’s long history of high-profile relationships and public breakups.
The New Orleans native, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., has spent more than two decades as one of hip-hop’s most influential artists. Wayne rose to fame with Cash Money Records in the late 1990s before becoming one of rap’s biggest solo stars through albums like “Tha Carter III,” which earned him a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album in 2009. According to the Recording Academy, Wayne has won five Grammy Awards throughout his career and helped shape the sound of modern Southern rap.
His dating life has often generated just as much attention as his music. In 2025, model Denise Bidot publicly accused Wayne of ending their relationship on Mother’s Day.
“Breaking up with someone on Mothers [sic] Day is diabolical,” she wrote online at the time. “Prayers up though. God always pulls me through. Walking with faith.”
Bidot later shared additional allegations involving emotional and physical abuse. Wayne did not publicly respond to the accusations.
The rapper was previously engaged to model La’Tecia Thomas and has also been linked over the years to Christina Milian, Trina, and Solange. His only marriage was to reality star Toya Rushing from 2004 to 2006. The former couple share daughter Reginae Carter together.
Wayne is also the father of three sons with Nivea, Lauren London, and radio personality Sarah Vivan. Despite years of public relationships, the rapper has become increasingly private in recent years, which may explain why this reported engagement caught fans off guard.
