Lizzo is getting real about the frustration behind trying to launch an album in today’s music industry, and according to her, the problem goes way deeper than low engagement.

The Grammy-winning artist opened up in a series of emotional TikTok videos this week while promoting her upcoming album Bitch, which is scheduled to drop June 5. While fans may assume major artists have unlimited marketing power behind every rollout, Lizzo says that has not been her experience this time around.
“Ever since the algorithm has been showing us things out of order, baby, there’s no way to successfully promote your album where everyone knows your album is coming,” she said during one clip that quickly started circulating online.
She also explained that even her most loyal supporters are not consistently seeing her content anymore. According to Lizzo, she runs a private page with more than 280,000 followers specifically made up of fans who actively support her music, but she claims the platform still limits how many people actually see her posts.
Then things got even more personal.
In another part of her rant, Lizzo admitted she feels abandoned by her label during a critical moment in her comeback rollout.
“I’m crashing out on my label right now,” she said. “I feel like there’s not any marketing money being put towards all of my ideas.”
The singer said she pitched multiple digital campaigns and creative concepts during meetings over the past month, but claims none of them were executed. She added that she has been promoting nonstop on her own by posting daily content, appearing on television, and releasing two music videos, yet still feels like her efforts are not translating.
The moment arrives during a complicated chapter in Lizzo’s career following lawsuits filed by former dancers in 2023 accusing her of harassment and creating a hostile work environment. Lizzo has denied the allegations and recently said she is prepared to testify in court.
Now, with Bitch on the way, she’s making it clear she feels like she’s fighting for attention on every front.
