A woman was fatally stabbed inside a Queens beauty salon, and police have arrested her estranged husband.
According to The New York Times, police said William walked into the Tu S’tilo Salon Spa in Jackson Heights on Wednesday and asked to speak with his estranged wife, Carmen. She was 35. The salon’s owner reportedly told him he was not allowed inside. Eyewitnesses told the paper he forced his way in and attacked her in front of coworkers and customers.
Carmen was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead later that day. William, 39, was arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. The charges are allegations, and he had not been convicted at the time of this report.
Police did not immediately release a motive. Carmen’s coworkers told The New York Times that he had recently begun showing up at her workplace and pacing outside in front of customers, which frightened employees, and that he had a history of violent behavior toward her.
Baller Alert sends condolences to Carmen’s family, friends and coworkers.
