In a TikTok video, Rodriguez said the situation was layered, and he spent years questioning his own decisions.
“Why did I keep going back there? That’s the same question I asked myself for so many years,” he explained, pointing to the emotional conflict he carried.
He admitted that ambition played a major role in how he processed everything, with his acting aspirations driving his decisions.
“I felt like my dream was coming true,” Rodriguez shared, explaining that he had already worked with Perry and believed he was building a real career path. Because of that, he hoped the alleged behavior would not continue.
He also spoke about the power dynamic at play.
“When your abuser is your mentor… your boss… someone who holds the key to your career… you tell yourself it was just a one-time thing,” he said. That imbalance, he added, made it difficult to separate opportunity from harm.
Rodriguez connected his experience to broader patterns around silence.
“That question is the number one reason why victims don’t come forward,” he said. “I didn’t have the perfect explanation… I’m tired of carrying that weight on my shoulders.”
Perry has denied all allegations. The case is ongoing.
