What started as a routine trip for fast food turned into a nightmare for a South Florida mother who says a McDonald’s employee pointed a gun at her during a dispute in the drive-thru.

Chayton Timmons says she was with her pregnant daughter, 1-year-old granddaughter, and other family members at a McDonald’s in Miami Gardens when an argument broke out over a delayed order. After waiting over an hour, the frustration boiled over. According to police, 19-year-old cashier Anthony Markeith Elliott III refused to give them their food and became confrontational. Timmons said things turned threatening when Elliott reached for his waistline and flashed a gun.
The mother immediately called 911 and told police they needed to respond quickly. She said the situation had the potential to become deadly and described the encounter as something out of a nightmare.
“He was acting like he had a death wish,” Timmons told local reporters. “He put my kids at risk and that’s something I won’t allow.”
Police later arrested Elliott and charged him with five counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. The McDonald’s franchise where the incident occurred confirmed Elliott had been fired and reaffirmed their no-weapons policy, stating that customer and employee safety is their top concern.
Timmons, who previously survived a shooting, said she’s not someone who plays about her family. “He must’ve wanted a McFuneral over some nuggets,” she said. “I don’t take threats lightly.”
Thankfully, no one was physically hurt, but the emotional toll of the ordeal remains.
