Two years after Miguel’s stage jump at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, a woman who was struck during the moment is reportedly suing.
You may remember the incident, in which Miguel leaped from the stage during his performance and landed on fans in the front. At the time, another fan, Khyati, said she suffered a head injury and was considering legal action, but no lawsuit was filed.
According to TMZ and other outlets, a different woman, Cindy, has now filed suit against Miguel and the MGM Grand Hotel, where the event was held. The reports say she is accusing both of negligence and is seeking damages to cover medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Reports say Cindy was the person Miguel landed on and that her head hit the stage.
The claims in the lawsuit are allegations that have not been proven in court. No response from Miguel or the MGM Grand had been published at the time of this report.
