Emily Kachote has been stripped of her Miss Zimbabwe title after private images of her circulated online last month, according to multiple reports.
The Miss Zimbabwe Trust reportedly said Kachote broke the terms of an agreement signed by contestants. In its statement, the organization said any behavior it categorizes as immoral is grounds for instant disqualification and dethronement.
Kachote is a psychology graduate who works as a financial advisor. The board said she will be replaced by runner up Grace Mutambu, who will represent Zimbabwe at the Miss World pageant in Sanya, China in December. It is the second year in a row that a Miss Zimbabwe titleholder has lost the crown.
Kachote faced criticism from some people when she first won the crown, though many Zimbabweans also rallied behind her. A public response from Kachote about the decision had not been widely reported at the time.
